What we do, what we need, what it costs
Three main claims and two supporting services. Every fee below is flat. We quote you before we start and the number does not move afterwards.
Pension lump-sum refund
The Dattai Ichijikin is the refund of the pension contributions taken out of your Japanese salary. You claim it after you leave the country and give up your residence. We handle the claim end to end: forms in Japanese, submission to the Japan Pension Service, and follow-up until your bank confirms the payment.
What we need from you

Pension tax refund (the 20.42% withheld)
When the pension service pays your lump-sum, it keeps 20.42% as income tax. That tax is refundable, but only through a tax representative registered in Japan before the claim is filed. We register as your representative, file the return with the tax office, and send the refund to you. If you left mid-year, we also check the income tax and resident tax taken from your final payslips.
What we need from you
Annual income and resident tax refund
If you sent money home to family outside Japan while you worked here, you can claim them as dependents and get back income tax and resident tax you overpaid. Most payroll offices never apply this deduction on their own. We check your payslips, prepare the dependent declarations, and file with the tax office.
What we need from you
The small jobs that hold claims up
Document translation
Offices in Japan return anything that is not in Japanese. We translate and format the documents a claim needs: bank letters, birth and marriage certificates, ID pages and employer letters.
Maternity allowance support
Mothers who paid into Japanese health insurance and gave birth abroad often still qualify for the birth allowance, up to ¥488,000. We check your insurance period, gather the hospital paperwork and file with the insurer.
The whole price list
Postage and bank transfer costs are passed on at cost and shown on your invoice. Nothing else is added.
