What we do, what we need, what it costs

Three main claims and two supporting services. Every fee below is flat. We quote you before we start and the number does not move afterwards.

Main service

Pension tax refund (the 20.42% withheld)

When the pension service pays your lump-sum, it keeps 20.42% as income tax. That tax is refundable, but only through a tax representative registered in Japan before the claim is filed. We register as your representative, file the return with the tax office, and send the refund to you. If you left mid-year, we also check the income tax and resident tax taken from your final payslips.

What we need from you

The pension decision notice you receive after the lump-sum is paid
Your last gensen choshu hyo, the withholding slip from your employer
Your final Japanese address and the tax office that covers it

Fee ¥10,000 flat, or ¥20,000 for Service 1 and Service 2 together
Time to payment 1 to 2 months after we file
Best time to arrange Before you leave Japan, or at the same time as the pension claim

Main service

Annual income and resident tax refund

If you sent money home to family outside Japan while you worked here, you can claim them as dependents and get back income tax and resident tax you overpaid. Most payroll offices never apply this deduction on their own. We check your payslips, prepare the dependent declarations, and file with the tax office.

What we need from you

Your gensen choshu hyo for the year you are claiming
Proof the money reached your family: bank or transfer receipts
ID documents showing your relationship to each dependent, translated into Japanese
Fee ¥10,000 per year filed
Time to payment 1 to 2 months after we file
Good to know You can claim for the last 5 years. Each year is filed and priced separately.
